A founding member of the Africa Group, Pillay is a distinguished and renowned South African jurist and advocate for human rights, a former Judge at both the International Criminal Court and the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, and has served as the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights from 2008 until 2014.
