On 26-27 March 2015, the Wayamo Foundation facilitated discussions in Nairobi on the establishment of an International and Transnational Crimes Unit in Kenya’s Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
The discussions were aimed at investigators from the Criminal Investigation Department and were opened by CID Director Mr. Ndegwa Muhoro and Ms. Lydia Ligami, the head of the CID’s International Crimes Unit. Also participating were Commission for International Justice and Accountability (CIJA) Director Dr. William Wiley, CIJA Senior Consultant Mr. Ewan Brown and Ms. Lilian Obuo, Head of the International Crimes Division at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
