Assembly of States Parties 2018: Side event Report
ASP Side Event report: on 10 December 2018, the Wayamo Foundation and the Africa Group for Justice and Accountability (AGJA) hosted a side-event at the Assembly of States Parties (ASP) of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, entitled, “Creative responses to international criminal justice – complementarity and capacity building.”

On 10 December 2018, the Wayamo Foundation and the Africa Group for Justice and Accountability (AGJA) hosted a side-event at the Assembly of States Parties (ASP) of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, entitled, “Creative responses to international criminal justice – complementarity and capacity building.”
AGJA´s current projects and main achievements
In February and March of this year, the Wayamo Foundation concluded a series of five key events (two meetings and three activities) in so many days in Nairobi, Kenya, as part of its “Fighting Impunity in East Africa” project, an initiative funded by the German Foreign Ministry.
Visit of the AGJA and Wayamo to the African Union
From 18 to 19 January, Dapo Akande, Professor of Public International Law at the University of Oxford and AGJA member, and Bettina Ambach, Director of the Wayamo Foundation met with representatives of the African Union Commission (AUC) in Addis Ababa. The delegation met with H.E. Mr. Thomas Kwesi Quartey, Deputy Chairperson of the AUC, Dr. Namira Negm, AUC Legal Counsel and Director for Legal Affairs, and Adewale Iyanda, Senior Legal Officer in the Office of the Legal Counsel of the AUC.
