The future of international criminal justice in Africa
Fatou Bensouda, former Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, discusses the impact of the ICC’s jurisprudence on international criminal justice in Africa. She shares her thoughts on the challenges African States are or will be encountering when adjudicating international crimes in their domestic systems. Fatou Bensouda also talks about what gives her hope for justice in Africa.
Fatou Bensouda attended the Dakar conference organised by the Wayamo Foundation and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) Programme for the Promotion of the Rule of Law in Sub-Saharan Africa. The international conference entitled, “Justice for International Crimes: Challenges and Strategies in West Africa and Elsewhere“, was held on 25 and 26 October 2021 in Dakar, Senegal.
