- Since 2003: Contributed to a number of Canadian and international publications including the Ottawa Citizen, the Montreal Gazette, the Vancouver Province, Financial Post, OpenCanada.org, Forum and the Guardian.
- 2003-2013: International Affairs and Human Rights Columnist at the Calgary Herald. Reported from Canada, the United States, Poland, Hungary, Germany, Switzerland and The Netherlands. Between 2005 and 2009, launched, edited and managed the Herald’s interactive online opinions section.
- Since 2004: Trained reporters and editors in communicating with online sources securely in Canada, Germany, Kenya and the Netherlands.
- 2006: Research Fellowship at the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR Geneva), focusing on small arms trade, arms brokerage and regional moratoriums on weapons trafficking. Conducted research and contributed to outreach efforts on several projects.
- 2009: Legal Researcher for the Dialogue Advisory Group (Netherlands) on one of the group’s assistance engagements in the Middle East.
- Since 2011: Trained reporters in using social media and new media for international justice reporting and in online security (Institute for War and Peace Reporting, Radio Netherlands Training Centre, Wayamo Foundation).
- 2012-2014: New Media Editor at the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (Netherlands). Reported on Kenyan justice issues and trained and assisted Kenyan reporters with local and international coverage of justice issues and the International Criminal Court in Kenya.
